FOCUS SANDBOX · FREE SOLO TOOL

A week with room to breathe.

Make space for the work that matters. Sketch a range, reserve some room, and try a different week before you commit.

Monday to Friday.
No dates. No promises.

Your focus week

An undated sketch. You choose what goes where. All times use 15-minute steps. h means hours; m means minutes.

Start in three steps

  1. Set your time. Open “Edit baseline room” for each day. Choose available time and a buffer.
  2. Add your work. Give each item a name, then choose a likely and cautious time estimate.
  3. Plan and compare. Drag work onto a day, or choose a day in its form. Keep work in Parked if it is not ready. Try What-if to see how a different amount of time changes the plan.

Start with a few candidates. Estimate a range, then choose a day or leave work parked.

Daily what-if changes

What-if changes apply to every day. Available time stays between 0m and 12h. Extra buffer can exceed it; that excess is shown explicitly. Work stays on the day you chose.

              CANDIDATE WORK · 0 / 20

              Choose what gets your attention.

A candidate is a piece of work you may do this week. Estimate its likely and cautious effort, then choose a day or keep it parked. Nothing is scheduled for you.

A few candidates are enough to start.

Add your first piece of work, or load the clearly labelled example week.

Keep a copy of the thinking.

Exports include both scenarios, every candidate and note, unknown ranges and the model’s limits.

              Terms explained
              Available time
Time you can spend on this work each day. Leave out meetings, breaks and other work.
              Buffer
Time you keep free for interruptions, delays or unexpected work.
              Planning room
Available time minus buffer. For example, 4h available and 1h buffer leaves 3h for work. It cannot fall below 0.
              Likely effort
Your best estimate of how long the work will take if it goes as you expect.
              Cautious effort
A longer estimate in case the work takes more time. It must be the same as, or higher than, your likely estimate. It is not a guarantee.
              Ranges to check
One or both estimates need attention. The work still needs time, so the tool cannot confirm that it fits.
              Parked
Work you have not put on a day yet. It stays in your plan, but is left out of the day and week time totals.
              Baseline
The original day limits you set. What-if changes keep these limits unchanged.
              What-if
Try more or less available time, or extra buffer, on every day. Both views use the same work and days. Moving work changes its day in both views.
              Known totals
Known likely adds the likely estimates you have entered. Known cautious adds cautious estimates only when both estimates are complete and in the right order. Missing time is left out of these totals; it does not mean the work takes no time.
              Day status
Over capacity means likely work or the buffer goes beyond the day’s limit. May need more time means the longer estimate goes beyond it. Check estimates means some estimates need attention. Within day limits means the supplied estimates fit; it does not promise that the work will finish.

              ROOM IS A CHOICE

              A sketch, before
              a commitment.

This is a planning aid, not a delivery forecast. Use it to see what you are assuming, then decide what deserves a place in your week.

              • Available time is the part of each day you choose to model, not a full workday or calendar connection. Reserve buffer for interruptions or uncertainty.
              • Planning room is available time minus buffer, with a minimum of zero. If you reduce a day’s available time, its original buffer is lowered to fit. The tool tells you what changed.
              • Known likely totals add the likely estimates you enter. Known cautious totals include only work with both estimates in the right order. Missing or reversed estimates mean the tool cannot confirm that all work fits.
              • Work stays on its chosen day. It is not split, ranked, moved or committed automatically. Parked work is outside the time totals.
              • Read each day separately. Friday’s spare time does not make an overloaded Monday fit. A cautious estimate is an assumption, not a probability or guarantee.

              Your week stays with you.
